Context and Definitions:
- The Global Gender Gap Index is a report published every year by the World Economic Forum. It examines the gap between men and women in four fundamental categories (subindexes) and 14 different indicators that compose them. The subindexes are Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival and Political Empowerment. The highest possible score is 1 (equality) and the lowest possible score is 0 (inequality).
In 2021, Australia was only ranking number 50 (out of 156 countries). First 5 countries were in order: Iceland, Finland, Norway, New Zealand and Sweden. - List of optional names of inspiring Australian women, transgender and nonbinary people:
