For 20 years, Action4Agriculture connected young Australians with the people, knowledge and opportunities to investigate real-world challenges and turn their ideas into action.

By 2021, our programs had reached more than 300,000 students, helping them develop skills in curiosity, creativity, collaboration, communication and problem-solving.

Through Young Farming Champions, The Archibull Prize, Kreative Koalas and Young Environmental Champions, we brought schools, farmers, scientists, industry leaders, government and community organisations together to give young people opportunities to learn from one another, develop solutions and contribute to their communities.

Our approach was built around an Ecosystem of Expertise. Young people had access to mentors, role models and experienced professionals who shared their knowledge, opened doors and helped them turn ideas into action.

Students investigated environmental and social issues, developed community projects, presented their ideas to expert audiences and learnt how to bring people together around a shared purpose.

Action4Agriculture concluded its operations in December 2023. This website preserves two decades of educational programs, student achievements, partnerships, stories and resources.

How we brought people together

Our Ecosystem of Expertise brought schools and young people together with government, industry, farmers, community organisations and other partners. Each contributed different knowledge, experience and resources to help young people investigate problems, develop solutions and take action.

At Action4Agriculture, we believe that education should be as dynamic and forward-looking as the world around us.

• Sustainability Focus: Understanding and protecting our environment is crucial. Our programs educated and inspired action towards a more sustainable, resilient world.
• Technological Integration: We embraced the latest technologies to ensure that our learners are digitally literate, preparing them for a world where tech plays a pivotal role.
• Global Perspectives: Our approach transcended borders, fostering a global outlook and teaching the importance of cultural awareness and global citizenship.
• Interactive and Collaborative Learning: We advocated for education that is interactive, collaborative, and breaks the traditional classroom mould, preparing learners for future workplaces where teamwork and communication are key.
